This was for the Garrard Magazine Tape Deck that Garrard developed in the early 60’s.

It was the accessory that was used to help indicate to the user the position of the tape and therefore quickly locate the beginning of each track.

A simple but effective mechanical device manufactured by Smiths for Garrard.
